Under the hood

A quick race.
A considered system.

Behind the simple starting line is a shared simulation, a browser client and a live .NET service. Driftex brings game design, networking and backend engineering into one running product.

One set of simulation rules

Offline AI and online rooms use the same deterministic simulation. Seeded scenarios and repeatable traces help check that changes behave as intended.

Responsive play, server authority

WebSockets carry race updates, with prediction, interpolation and reconnect handling on the client. The server controls movement, collisions, laps, upgrades and results.

The work around the game

Matchmaking, persistence, leaderboards and moderation support the player experience. Health checks, deployment tooling and rollback planning support the live service.

Built, tested, connected

Simulation, networking and browser checks sit alongside replay and capacity tests. The aim is a game whose behaviour can be checked as carefully as its interface can be played.
